Well I wanted to post this for Christmas, but my computer had other plans. Almost $600 in repairs etc. later, it finally seems to work so here is the late Christmas treat.
I was trying to think of something really different to do with our gingerbread cookies this year, something that seemed "Christmassy", but wasn't too generic of the season. Then it hit me; they used to play "The Wizard of Oz" at Christmas every year when I was a youngster, so why not do the main cast of the movie? Plus with the popularity of "Wicked" maybe, just maybe I might actually pull some people in to finally look at the blog. If you look at the first blog post, you will get an inkling of how crazy our gingerbread cookies do get around here. As the Wicked Witch says "These things take time, one must do it delicately or you hurt the spell". Usually I end up using nothing more than toothpick technology to decorate the cookies since toothpicks can make fine details in a way that nothing else can. This does take time, but always ends up with interesting results. I decided to do some very low tech staging for the photographs too, using just scraps of specialty papers used for scrapbooking. Maybe if I get really ambitious one of these years I will make a full gingerbread cast and do some movie scene for scene. Well if anyone actually sees these I hope you enjoy them! For you Wicked fans, I did some of just elfeba and Glenda as well as just Elefeba and Fiaro (hope I spelled those right).
